this weekend with you: dream, drink coffee, listen to records, commune in nature and tell you something you may not already know…

This is True.

2014 Toast!
to nearest, to dearest, to the crew, to cahoots, to the ones who’ve been there, to the ones who’ll be there, to dropping everything, to saying anything, to no judgements, to no doubts, to loyalty, to trust, to favours, to lifelongs, to been too long, to nothings changed, to having history, to having your back, to moving away, to never too far, to growing up, to settling down, to family, to friends.
Love and hugs to you all.

a eve of gratitude

Both my sister and I are here today, intact and well and very grateful to be able to tell this story so that our happy-ending may help prevent less of the alternative.

How do you bring up such a horrific tale that you have not a scratch to show for?  People ask how your Christmas was and you say,  “Beautiful, full of gratitude, love and disbelief” or “Magical, the way it should be”, or “Simple and complete, full of sister cuddles”.   Or,  “It started with a scary carnival ride Christmas eve – one that spins you into a dark, tumbling slow motion time warp.  It was silent, except for the sounds of crunching metal around you and breaking of glass.  Black thoughts.  And, then awakening not knowing quite where you are.”

Looking at each other astonished, and confused. Are we ok?  My sister and I held onto each other’s hands tightly with the sound of rushing water too close for comfort.  I pray and I thank the universe.  My sister, surprisingly controlled, keeps me breathing steady.  Then from above we hear a calm, collected and comforting voice, “Help is on the way”.  I believe it.  And then we watch, as this belief becomes a crazy reality.

I want to thank the kind, controlled and comforting man that kept my sister and I somewhat sane and then all the skillful and wonderful professionals in our community who quickly, compassionately and skillfully responded to this accident.  Bracing and securing the vehicle in the creek.  Getting the door open.  Carefully escorting us over a ladder across the creek, and up a ladder to the other rescue crews above.

Our community is in good hands!

The ride ended in the best possible place, in my family’s arms.

Happy Autumn!

Have you ever felt a potential love for someone? Like, you don’t actually love them and you know you don’t, but you know you could. You realise that you could easily fall in love with them. It’s almost like the bud of a flower, ready to blossom but it’s just not quite there yet. And you like them a lot, you really do. You think about them often, but you don’t love them. You could, though. You know you could.
